TEATRO TOWNHOUSE

A “Surprise Box” with a masculine, fun, and very eclectic spirit, much like it’s owner.

Ding Dong got in charge of both the architecture and interiors project of this townhouse. A typical early 20th-century Oporto city’s built, located in one of the best residential neighborhoods in the city.

It was thought of as a “Surprise Box” with a masculine, fun, and very eclectic spirit, like the new owner. It was built like a narrative that unfolds itself throughout the different spaces of the house surprising and involving its inhabitants.
For this architecture and interiors project the studio sought a very relaxed and comfortable environment, playing with the mixture of materials and colors for an “out of the box” result, designed without prejudice and with great freedom.

In the dining room, a custom-made panel signed by the Portuguese artist Iva Viana brings the textures of the outdoors into the room. In fact, the garden itself now seems to be, in a way, part of the house. The big windows in the dining room allow light to come in and the green of the outside to mix itself with the interiors.
